Ok, thank you.
Please do the following change in errcd.c on line 481:

old line: syslog(LOG_INFO,"   cannot open %d. Ignoring.", PIDFILE);
new line: syslog(LOG_INFO,"   cannot open %s. Ignoring.", PIDFILE);

THE RESULTS ARE THE LOCOS WITH A NMRA/dcc DECODER WORKS NICELY, BUT
LOCOS WITH MOTOROLA/MARKLIN DECODERS NOT REACT IN ANY MANNER. LOOKS LIKE
MARKLIN/MOTOROLA PROTOCOL DON?T WORKS.

Unfortunatelly the patch above doesn't solve your problem. In my
opinion it is a problem with your linux kernel and your serial
hardware. If you combine a new linux kernel with old pc hardware,
you need a kernel patch (called "low latency patch" (is this the right
name?)) to run erddcd. Please look in the DDL-ML archive.

Another way to get success is to run erddcd on old hardware with an
older linux kernel (e.g. Version 2.2.12).
