marlene-dietrich-collect

The 'Collector's Stuff' pages are, of course, for the true MARLENE DIETRICH fans and the  collectors like myself, who can almost be described as obsessive. Here you can find more of the items I have gathered together as a result of this painstaking research, such as, for example, the record player pictured above. It was on this 'Record Stereo Sound System' from the fifties, which is still in perfect working order, that MARLENE listened to her records in her New York apartment on Park Ave.

Five years after MARLENE's death, her heirs sold off the entire contents of the Manhattan apartment - a momentous collection of works of art, furniture, clothes, books, jewellery, crockery, letters, vintage photos and lots of bric-à-brac - in an auction at Sotheby's in Beverly Hills (Los Angeles) on November 1, 1997. Fans and friends travelled from all corners of the world to get hold of one of the last mementos of the legendary 'woman of the century'. They bid top prices and raised the tidy sum of 659000 Dollar for the heirs.
