Scientology patents
L. Ron Hubbard flunked university, David Miscavige didn't even finish high
school, Scientology teaches that radiation is water-soluble; nevertheless,
it was able to file patents on some of their non-nuclear "technology".
Scientology-related patents found on Delphion
and the USPTO:
-
Lavalier microphone
assembly, by David
Miscavige
Arnie Lerma says that this is
a "vanity patent" and a fraud, and says that it is "an exact copy of an
old RKO Radio microphone from the 1920's, an exact reduction in size".
-
Design of a
keyboard, by Pascal Jean-Marie R. Julienne and Fred J. Pierson, III
-
Apparatus for
reducing distortion in a tape recorder, by L. Ron Hubbard
-

Hubbard

Electropsychometer
or bioelectronic instrument by Volney Mathison (this is the original
device that Hubbard "improved"; it was originally considered to be an aid to any form of psychotherapy!)

John McCormick, Raymond Bernard, Joseph Butryn and Ronald Clifford
-

Originally assigned to Frank Zurn; I have been told that this patent has
later been assigned to L. Ron Hubbard (this means that he profits from
it)
-
Training system
for simulating changes in the resistance of a living body, by Bruce
Ploetz and Victor A. Wagner, Jr.: This is a "scientologist-in-a-box" that
produces e-meter reads just like a real scientologist to train auditors.
This was first introduced around 1996 as a part of the "golden age of tech"
marketing.
-
Long-term storage
container, by Harry J. Cornwall
-
Design of a
Time capsule, by Harry J. Cornwall (possibly unrelated to Scientology)
-
Two wheel trailer,
by Harry J. Cornwall and Daniel E. Hanebrink (possibly unrelated to Scientology)
Help needed: I am unable to find a patent for the Clearsound system used
by Scientology. It is said to have been invented by one Steve Marlowe.
Could it be that this sound system is just PR and not an invention at all?
The following patents are said to be Scientology-related, but are unavailable
online:
-
US2827041, issued 3/1958 to Pierson et al
-
US2535249, issued 12/1950 to Wilhelm et al
