Most of the people who post in this newsgroup are either: : 1) Suppressive people who have been kicked out of the Church of : Scientology, : 2) Psychs (psychologists or psychiatrists) or : 3) Criminals. Dear Charlie the Artist, You failed to mention the biggest group of people that are here on this group. The beings that hang out here are some of the brightest that ever passed through Scientology and who have waken up to the suppresiveness of the Cof$. It took me 8 years but I have broken away from the Cof$ now (actually as of the end of January). I do not fall within any of the three categories above so must be in a fourth one: 4) Self-Determined Individuals that make up their own minds as to who they talk with or what they think of. I will most likely be joined into the 1st group soon though, thanks to a rabid-sea-org-member sister-in-law at Celebrity Centre International who is now hell-bent on having all of my wifes family write 'disconnect' letters to us and I quote: "... You will probably both be declared SP's due to the SP acts you are committing and have committed. // Due to this neither I or ------ can be in comm with you until you both get your ethics in and make up the damage you've done. // Please do not try to contact myself or ------ at any time as we will only just refuse such communication. This is all I have to say." I would like to point out that neither my wife or myself have actually been declared as of this writing, yet we are being accused of 'commiting supressive acts', etc. My wife and I both decided each on our own back in January that we were going to take the responsibility of our spiritual freedom back into our own hands. We were tired of being pennyless (and this is not an exageration, sometimes we would count pennies) and being overextended on credit and having no end in sight. Since deciding to leave the church of scientology I have found a much, much better job and even figured out how to buy my own home (something that I thought I would not be able to do for at least 10 years because of the 'bridge' and the costs involved). What finally made it easy for me to decide to leave the Cof$? I had an ulcer condition back in January which had been persisting for about 4 months. I had seen doctors for it and was on some medicine. I had also talked with the folks at the local org. Their solution was a 'homeopathic' one which was to take walnut extract (YUK!). (I am not bashing Homeopathy but don't think it was the right action for me at the time). Anyway, after two weeks of walnut extract and no result I quit taking it. When I began reading a.r.s and a.c.t in January I read just about everything that I could get my hands on. On one Electra memo (from the Free Zone archives) there was a question that had to do with BT's. I was sitting at my terminal reading that memo and when I read that particular question I instantly realized and pictured that I was doing exactly what this question was asking and I perceived a mass that seemed to float away from my stomach area. About 10 seconds later a larger mass also moved away from my stomach area too. As soon as that happened the ulcer condition vanished and I have not had that problem since. And I don't mean 'it healed up over time', I mean "IT WAS INSTANTLY GONE, NO PAIN ANY MORE". It was at that point that I was angered enough to leave the Cof$ and never go back. They had the Tek to handle a situation and did nothing to even let on that they may have the answer. (Believe me, I talked about it with enough friends that were Oat Tee). So there you go. I have now sort of made my entrance into this area. Thanks to the number of friends that I have made here that have communicated with me privately. I hope that any lurking scientologists that are in any doubt will honestly at least look at the data on both sides, there is no rush, you have eternity! (That is something I had a problem with at the beginning and a friend here kindly pointed it out to me! Thanks! :). (And this means not what the ethics officer says you can look at or not look but whatever you NEED to look at before deciding, you will not catch pnuemonia or burst into flames from reading the Oat Tea data). I have made my decision to leave the Cof$ and have not been this happy in life since originally finding scientology, the freedoms and joys it promised. The funny thing is it took leaving it to fully realize them! Good luck to all my friends that are still in the church, sorry to be you with all that shity policy that you HAVE to follow, heaven forbid they may not LET you have the bridge, in the church that is, it is still available out here. Thank you all for reading this far. I just want to say one more thing and that I feel that the Cof$ copyrights should not be violated at this time and personally have no copies that I can remember of the alleged copyrighted materials that have passed through this newsgroup and a.r.s. I will however support whatever I can to change the copyright status of the materials through legal channels. Sincerely, -Troy Miranda Ex-Scientologist, 1995
