Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: NEWSFLASH: BOMB THREAT - THIS IS SERIOUS From: Kim Baker Date: Tue, 10 Oct 1995 07:26:21 GMT On Monday evening, 9 October, at approximately 7.00 pm, Malcolm Nothling, a veteran critic of the Church of Scientology, received a telephone call in Johannesburg, South Africa. He said the caller was male, and had a Zimbabwean (Rhodesian) accent. The caller said that based on the results of the Gerry Armstrong hearing, a planned action to bomb a Scientology Org (he did not specify which Org) was going to occur within the next ten days. He asked Malcolm if he wished to help with the planning of the operation. Malcolm stated that while he can understand the way the person feels, he completely disassociates himself from this type of action, and does not support it in any way. I immediately asked Malcolm if he had considered that this was possible entrapment, and he said no, he firmly believes the call was authentic. Malcolm has a sound knowledge of the intelligence community in Southern Africa, and is able to judge for himself. Malcolm asked that I relay this information to the Internet. A new level of operation against Scientology is going to occur as a result of the Church's actions against its detractors. I feared this would happen, and I cannot be a part of it. I have resigned from the Board of Directors of FACTNET, and I withdraw from the conflict. Kim Baker Cape Town South Africa
