Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: Scientology is a scam From: kcutchin@ccs.neu.edu (Karen Cutchin) Date: 10 Nov 1995 21:04:03 GMT I don't know how anyone could fall for this. I have a friend who started to get involved with this stuff after being dragged off the street to take a personality test. The people she met with called her up about two days later to tell her they wanted to give her a job interview because they had read her personality test and thought she was an interesting person. After this they practically forced her to sign a 2 and a half year contract promising to stay involved with the group. This was after the "job interview" took 8 hours and every test imaginable was given to her. In my opinion, any organization that believes in itself wouldn't have to have someone sign a contract with them to make sure they stayed. I've read some Dianetics, too, and from what I understand, in scientology, you're not supposed to idolize anyone but yourself. Why is it then that they think L. Ron Hubbard is a God?
