My account of the Berlin demo against Scientology

I had read in the newspaper that there would be a demo against scientology, because of the scientologists involved in the condo conversion business. It was shortly reported on evening TV news (30 seconds).

It started with a bicycle ride. I was on the meeting point on time - and there was nearly nobody (maybe 5 people, including a blonde with beautiful long hair, *** ***** and a huge camera - I wasn't there to pick up girls, but I had an eye <g> on her, more about later). There were lots of police there - weird. Later more people came, we were about 50. Lots of journalists were also there, including the famous Billerbeck & Nordhausen team (they had written a book about scientology, that even made it to the pocket book market). Their foto is in the book - it's easy to recognise them. The police was there to "clear" the roads for us - red traffic lights didn't stop us !

The bicycle tour was really cool. It was a "guided tour" with stops at some houses bought by scientology-near companies. Some of these houses had cloths hanging out of the window with texts against scientology. One had an inflated rubber shark.

After 2 hours, we were at the meeting point for the actual demonstration. We started walking. Reports in the newspaper next day told about 150 people (I thought more). On the front was a group of drummers. There did not just make bombombombom, but bubbadibumbabadum and lots of different rythms. I took a closer look - it was a remote-controlled conspiracy: they had a leader who made "secrets" signs to change the rythms at will. cool. Maybe a secret ritual played on the sea to get clams to open themselves, so that we can eat them.

I noticed that the blonde did not really walk with the crowd, but aside of the crowd, and made fotos of everything. Seemed suspicious to me, but sometimes I did the same, so what ? But I felt that she wasn't a journalist either. Sometimes she talked with another, older woman.

One little girl had a sign, on which was written: "Miethaie zu Fish-Stäbchen" which means: "Convert house sharks into fish fingers"

The demo went even past the most famous two houses, which had already been reported about in newspapers and TV. A car played the text of a show on scientology, the one in which RVY was interviewed. At one of two houses, we had a break: they sold beer and noodle salad. Kindof a "clambake".

The demo stopped near a church (a real one), and three tenants told what happened. One example: the scienos told the tenants of the "back-house" that the tenants of the "front-house" had already agreed to leave their apartments, and the same the other way ! They also tried to put a rift between the german and the turkish tenants. The girl with the *** **** and the huge camera was still moving around. She never smiled or "enjoyed" like anyone else from the crowd. Later she sat down with the other woman.

Then I noticed that the journalist Nordhausen did make a foto of the two ! Now this was highly suspicious ! I asked Nordhausen, and got the response that yes, they are scienos <g>.

Nordhausen did now make an interview with the older lady, who was obviously well prepared. I asked Billerbeck (Nordhausen's team partner) "who's that woman", answer "Sabine Titzel", spokesperson of scientology germany. That certainly got my attention ! Her point was that "the press" is spreading "an atmosphere" / "a sentiment", and that she came to Berlin to find out what was happening. She took notes, and said that she would investigate what happened. She said that scientology is recognised worldwide as a church. When some people told her about lost trials, she said that she would investigate it, but also lied again in saying that the german court stated that co$ is a religion :-)

After the interview she spoke with a really weird guy with weird sunglasses, who was a critic and tenant in one of the houses. He said "you will never win", "you scientologists will vanish from the planet" and "you won't succeed, and you will be punished by scientology". I did not understand a lot, because the church bells began to ring. The weird guy tried to "bullbait" her, and of course, it didn't work. Their heads were only 5cm apart ! Children spread grass on her hair. She didn't blink even after I yelled "you have a spider on your shoulder". (there *really* was one - but it later crawled on her back. Don't know where it got later).

When their dialogue was finished, I had a chat with her.

Tilman:
What happened with Ms Hansen [of the Hamburg Org] ?
Titzel:
For which paper are you working ?
Tilman:
No paper, I'm on my own.
Titzel:
She's in the US studying.
Tilman:
Is she on the RPF ?
Titzel:
The RPF is only for Sea Org members.
Tilman:
I will check if this is true.
Titzel:
Yes, do that.

[I did check this on a.r.s. - It is true, but there are punitive actions for normal members as well, one of them is called the "Project Force" (PF). So Ms Hansen certainly isn't having a good time now]

I then said that I am "from the internet" - she knew a bit, like that they were sueing a "copyright infringer". I said "alleged", she said that the trial will show.

She then chatted with other critics. She was quite nice & friendly (but did not have long hair and *** **** like the other girl), and did not switch into attack mode. Except that she lied from time to time, I couldn't resist to "like her". She's surely the right woman for the job. I do not remember everything she said, because a lot of people were talking around. One of the things was that scienos don't make crank phone calls, and that critics should ask the Telekom to setup tracing for incoming phone calls, and that they had found out that one swiss critic was making such calls himself [I only remembered later that 1. no data, and 2. no scieno would be so stupid as to make such calls from a non-public phone].

I listened while she chatted with other critics, including one who had taken a comm course and found it was bullshit. Some people said that money from the condo conversions was funneled into the church. She said that she earns DM 1000 a month (about $700), and had donated only DM 9000 in 9 years. I couldn't resist telling about $300,000 until OT8.

Someone told about the RPF in Saint Hill.

Titzel:
There is no such thing as prison camps. It would be illegal.
Tilman:
This does exist ! I know a guy who was held for 14 days in the Fort Harrison Hotel ! It's just that guy that you are sueing for coypright infringement !
Titzel:
But it would be illegal to imprison people ! That would be <list of felonies>

Later I asked her about her grade. Unlike Russell Shaw, she responded. She said she was "OT-Clear-2". I did not understand it, she explained that she was "grade 2", which is somewhat below clear. Later I could not resist to tell her that she would some day hear about "Xenu". I love to enturbulate the clams - and enturbulating the german spokesperson is a good idea, or not ?

Tilman:
You know, in a few years, wou'll make OT3, and will learn about Xenu, the 75000000 years ago incident, overpopulation, H-bombs, etc.
Titzel:
I know that one too. All from the press, silly. Must be fake material.
Tilman:
The papers where on the internet !
Titzel:
It's a forgery. The church will go after everyone who spreads forgeries.
Tilman:
No, the chuch lawyers are trying to hold the lawyer of that alleged copyright infringer in contempt because she used press material on OT3. And the church is not sueing about OT8 !
Titzel:
[I don't remember what she said]
Tilman:
Be careful ! I have warned you ! Xenu ! It's all about Xenu ! You will know it in a few years when doing OT 3 ! Don't forget it ! X E N U ! You will leave scientology !
Titzel:
OK, "Xenu". I will remember it, and I will remember this moment. Thanks for telling me. <g>

The main point about this is that for the first time of my life, I did talk with a scieno <g>. I hope that I won't go on the mailing list, or get crank phone calls. (I did not tell my name, but maybe they are reading this)
