Overview

MacSOUP is an offline reader for Usenet newsgroups and Internet e-mail. If you don't know what newsgroups are, you probably don't need this program. MacSOUP is primarily a newsreader, its e-mail capabilities are somewhat rudimentary compared to "real" e-mail clients.

System requirements

The current version of MacSOUP (2.8.2) is available for Mac OS X (version 10.1.3 or later; Universal Binary), and for Classic Mac OS; the version for Classic Mac OS has been tested on Mac OS 9 only. It probably runs well on Mac OS 8.5 or later, and with a bit of luck even on earlier systems. I can't guarantee this however, so if you have problems with MacSOUP on an old system, you may want to stick with the 2.4.6 version, which has been tested on 7.1 and later, and will continue to be available.

MacSOUP is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
