After a day searching why my S88 wouldn't function when connected to the
parallelport ofmy notebook, I found out that the high levels from the parallel
port (3.3V) are simply not high enough to drive the cmos 4014 in the S88.
Questions:
Will the alternative interface using the 74241 function reliable with 3.3V
high levels? I know it should, but does anyone have experience with this?
Has someone tried to interface using optocouplers? What frequencies
are used when reading the feedbackunits? Can I influence these
frequencies?
Thanks!
Marcel
ps. I hope the group doesn't mind me using English. My writing in
English is a lot better than my writing in German...
