Hello Pedro,

i use erddcd on a Pentium II (400Mhz) Compaq Workstation and on a
Samsung GT 8750 Notebook (Pentium III, 750 Mhz) with RedHat 7.1
without any problems. On my old PC (Pentium, 100Mhz) i run RH 6.1.

IMHO the following rule is valid to run erddcd:

      old pc hardware requieres an old linux (kernel)
      new pc hardware requieres a new linux (kernel)

Sorry for this bad news.

AFAIR there is a kernel patch available, which will solve
your problem. Please look in the archive of this mailinglist
and try to understand (german).
